  1. I think this article is similar in that it gives a lot of background information about Math Recovery. It tells how it is used and why it is used.

It is different because this article is more of a case study testing the effectiveness of math recovery.

I think this article was chosen because it is proven research showing that Math Recovery is effective, especially among the twelve that were targeted.

    1. It is nice that Math Recovery / AVMR has been proven over and over for years now to be effective. This article is only one example of this fact. But having done it for some time now, I think personal experience makes you trust it the most!

  2. What is Math Recovery? How was it designed? What happens when students are identified as being good candidates for the Math Recovery program? All of these were questions answered in the article and I felt, were questions I already had a good grasp on. So the information was similar more to the AVMR resources I have read in the past.
The article and the experiment, reminded me of many articles that I read through the SD Counts program and in our math graduate courses. There’s a good reason why…they all involve effective teaching of math.

  3. That is true, Math Recovery has proven results over many years. Math Recovery Intervention is now on the list for "research based" RTI interventions. :)
